FRANKFORT, KY (May 6, 2026) – Auditor Allison Ball has named Olivia McKown as External Affairs and Communications Director for the Office of the Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts. McKown will help lead the agency’s strategic communications, oversee public outreach, and support the delivery of audit findings to Kentuckians.
“I am excited to welcome Olivia to my team,” Auditor Ball said. “She has an impressive track record and is known for her hard work ethic and ability to get results for those she serves. Kentuckians will benefit greatly as she puts her many talents to work in public service.”
Before joining the Auditor’s Office, McKown held the role of Public Affairs Director for the Home Builders Association of Kentucky, where she supported governmental affairs activities and led communications efforts. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, McKown holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in public policy and public administration, along with additional education credentials from Lipscomb University.
She brings a decade of experience across government, education, and politics, with work spanning federal, state, and local entities. Last year, she was named a Notable Woman in Kentucky Politics and Government by The Kentucky Gazette and graduated from Leadership Kentucky’s Elevate program.
