Auditor of Public Accounts Ed Hatchett has
appointed Susan Porter Cooper of Beaver Dam in Ohio County to the Kentucky Registry of
Election Finance. Cooper will serve until August 15, 2001, filling an unexpired term on
the Registry created by the resignation last year of Judith Clabes. Cooper is Executive Director of Skills, Incorporated, an employee recruitment and development firm headquartered in Owensboro. A native of Caneyville, Cooper holds a B.S. and an M.A.T. from Western Kentucky University. She is President of the Ohio County Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Boards of the Riverpark Center, Owensboro, and Girls, Inc. "I am pleased to have the opportunity to appoint a solid citizen of Western Kentucky, Susan Porter Cooper, to the Registry," said Hatchett. "Susan brings a demonstrated interest in voting and the political process, along with a record of professional success and civic involvement. Cooper is a Democrat. Her appointment is subject to confirmation by the Kentucky Senate. |
