State Auditor Crit Luallen announced today the appointment of Cindy James as Assistant Auditor of Public Accounts and Jeff Derouen as Director of Communications and Deputy General Counsel. " Both of these individuals have a proven record of serving the taxpayers of Kentucky with honor and integrity," said Luallen.
A 24-year veteran of state government, James is a CPA who started her career and spent 16 years with the Auditor's office. She has spent the last eight years as budget officer and Director of Administrative Services in the Attorney General's office. As Assistant Auditor of Public Accounts, James will direct the audit staff as well as oversee budget and administrative matters of the office. Jeff Derouen received both a B.A. in Political Science and a law degree from the University of Louisville. Derouen has spent the last seven years in the Jefferson County Commonwealth's Attorney's office where he served as Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney and Communications Director. Derouen will also use his legal background to serve as Deputy General Counsel in the Auditor's Office in addition to his role as Director of Communications. " Jeff brings a unique blend of legal expertise and communications experience to the Auditor's office, " said Luallen. " The addition of Cindy and Jeff and their experience will help to take the Auditor's office to the next level of taxpayer protection." |
