Office of Planning and Management

The Office of Planning and Management provides administrative services for the office of the Auditor of Public Accounts. This office has the responsibility for preparing and managing the Biennial Budget for the Auditor's office. In addition to budgetary oversight, this office is responsible for all personnel matters, accounts receivable and payable, and the office's physical plant. The Office of Planning and Management also coordinates all information technology initiatives undertaken by the Auditor's office and the release of all audit information to the press and public. Cindy James directs this office in addition to her duties as Assistant State Auditor.

Division Director, Assistant State Auditor: Cindy James

Cindy James is a CPA with 24 years experience in state government. Ms. James started her career and spent 16 years with the Auditor's office. She has spent the last eight years as budget officer and Director of Administrative Services in the Attorney General's office. As Assistant Auditor of Public Accounts, James directs the audit staff as well as oversees the budget and administrative matters of the office. Ms. James is originally from Ashland, Kentucky and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree business administration. She is married to Brian and has three children.
